Our Mission

Here at Northeast Assembly of God in Philadelphia, PA, we want to be a people who care for, welcome, and support those around us in a way that can only be inspired by God. It's our hope that people who visit our church or interact with our people walk away feeling loved, encouraged, refreshed, and drawn closer to God. We want every man, woman, and child in our community to have the chance to experience and respond to the Gospel in action through our church.

Our Beliefs

This is how we view God, Jesus, the Bible, man, and many significant aspects of our faith. Firmly rooted in Scripture, our beliefs guide our decisions as a church.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus came to this earth in the flesh, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and lived a sinless human life as God in a body. Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He physically rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. Jesus ascended to Heaven and will physically return again someday to earth to reign as King. (Matt 1:22,23; John 1:1-5,14; Heb 4:14-15; 1 Cor 15:3-4; Rom 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11: 1 Tim 6: 14-15; Is. 7:14, 9:6)

Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty of death. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. (Rom 6:23; Eph 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:2; Gal 3:26; Rom 5:1, 10:9-10)

The family is the first and most important classroom and training ground for society. We believe God's best vision for family is based on a marriage covenant between a man and a woman, which provides the child with the effective presence of both a father and a mother in their upbringing. The family provides the security, the heritage, and the perpetuation of morality without which no society can survive (Genesis 4:12, Ephesians 6:14)

Our Leadership

Pastor Luis Silva

Pastor

Since 1977, Pastor Luis gave his life to JESUS accepting HIM as HIS Lord & Savior.

He immediately became active in the student ministries group, youth choir, and evangelism team at his church.
At the age of 16, the Lord called him to full time ministry and after graduating from High School, the Lord opened the doors and he enrolled in Bethany University in Santa Cruz, CA an AG academic institution.

A couple of years after his graduation, from Bethany University, with a B.S. in Theology in 1983, he was credentialed as an ordained minister in the AG.
He began traveling as a full time evangelist mainly in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean!
For years the Lord blessed and made ways for him to be on both Christian radio and television.

Pastor Luis is married to Mayra. He is currently serving as the lead pastor at the New Northeast Assembly of God church in Northeast Philadelphia, PA where the Holy Spirit is leading, moving and blessing the congregation in powerful ways!

Starting in the month of April, and as founder of the New Northeast Assembly of God en Español, Pastor Luis will also be serving the Spanish community as lead pastor.

Justin Turner

Evangelism Ministry Lead, Children Ministry Teacher, & Prayer team member

Justin works as the lead evangelist at NEAG. He takes the members of the church and they evangelize on the streets of Philadelphia. He works alongside his wife Aleishka as one of the children ministry teacher. He also works with the prayer team interceding for others. He has worked as a behavior therapist & school teacher for 12 years. Justin is currently working on his Masters in School Counseling/Clinical counseling at Seton Hall University.

Justin has been raised Christian his whole life, but lived a lukewarm life. God delivered him from pornography, sexual immorality, and drugs. Now he has been living faithfully to the Lord Jesus Christ for 3 years.

Aleishka Ferrer-Turner

Children Ministry Leader/Teacher

Aleishka works with the children ministry as the lead teacher at NEAG. She has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Spanish and she's certified to teach kids from K-12. She has been teaching Middle school kids for 3 years. She's in her final year to be a Diagnostic Sonographer at Rowan College of South Jersey.

Aleishka has been serving the Lord since she was 15 years old. The Lord saved and delivered her from depression and suicidal thoughts. The enemy had a strong hold in her life, but by the grace of God, He showed her what it's like to be free.

Julius Postell

Young Adults Ministry

Julius Postell is one of the young adults leaders here at Northeast Assembly of God. Jesus encountered him in 2019 at the age of 16. Since then, he has burned to preach the gospel and advance the Kingdom of God in the earth. Julius shares a passion for servant leadership and seeing the sheep of God equipped with supernatural faith as well as sound doctrine. Prior to his time at Northeast Assembly of God, he served in pastoral care at Albright College overseeing a flock of young adult students. There he preached, discipled, and shepherded fellow believers. Here at NEAG, he has continued to answer the call of God to lead sheep and believes that greatness is achieved in serving.

Jasmine Santiago

Nursing Home Ministry

Hello, my name is Jasmine Santiago, l am 65 years old. I started the Nursing Home Ministry in 2023 when God placed in my heart that I should continue to utilize my talents and passion in caring for the elderly, in-spite of having a stroke that made me retire after working as an RN for 33 years. Having a stroke affected my memory and I was unable to work. I have adopted Oakwood Rehab and Healthcare facility for NEAG and visit once a week with a sister in Christ Angela, visiting residents; we take treats, we hug them; hold their hands, read the bible, pray for them or just listen to them. Matthew 9:37-38 says Then he said to his disciples "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest"

Pastor Luis Silva does a worship service every 4 to 6 weeks and our church members gather together and sing; recite bible verses and the pastor gives the word, at the end we pray for everyone and offer salvation to the unsaved.
I thank God that I have the opportunity to serve our God and honor him and always putting God first in all I do and letting his will be done.

My prayer is for more people to visit the elderly and minister and bring comfort to them during their last days and prepare them to meet their father in heaven.

Yolanda V Torres

NEAG Treasurer and Business Administrator

Yolanda grew up between New York and Philadelphia. At the age of 15 Yolanda started attending a Pentecostal church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 2011 she started attending NEAG and has been a member ever since. Throughout her 14 years at NEAG she has been involved in many ministries such as the Prayer ministry, kitchen ministry, hospitality ministry, and children’s ministry. She also serves as a Board Member.

Yolanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business from the University of the State of New York, Regents College, and has been responsible for the business and financial operations of NEAG for the last 5 years. Yolanda is married to Ed, and they have four children, and 6 grandchildren,

Yolanda is looking forward to being more involved in encouraging people to seek God’s Kingdom through prayer. She believes that NEAG is like a shelter, a hospital, where people can come to Jesus and find comfort and healing for their wounded hearts and souls. She is also looking forward into getting more involved in encouraging family leaders, parents, guardians, into bringing their children to this, God’s House of Prayer, and to also teach their children to pray at home, together with the family. She believes that together we can spend time with the Lord in prayer to form a foundation on which we can All build our lives as disciples, followers of Jesus.

Abraham Betancourt

Worship Leader
Spanish Ministry

Abraham serves as the Worship Leader at NEAG, bringing a deep passion for God’s presence, musical excellence, and Spirit-led worship.

Abraham has been involved in worship and music ministry since the age of 14. Even as a child, he had a keen ability to dissect musical arrangements and understand what each instrument was doing. At 13, he felt a strong calling to develop musically but lacked formal training. In faith, he began attending rehearsals at his local church with a borrowed acoustic guitar, praying for God to teach him. One day, in a miraculous moment, his hands began to play what he had never learned—marking the beginning of a journey where God became his greatest teacher. Over time, he received guidance from key mentors in the worship community and has since had the blessing of ministering both locally and internationally. Today, he also serves as the Music Director for SEDUTH PA (Spanish Eastern District PA Section).

Abraham is committed to raising up a worship team that is passionate, skilled, and spiritually sensitive — one that leads the congregation into God-centered, Spirit-led worship. He draws inspiration from ministries like Deeper Worship and William McDowell, embracing a heart of surrender and excellence in all he does. Starting in the month of April, both Abraham and Sahira De Los Santos, will be serving the Spanish community in Worship ministry, at the New Northeast Assembly of God en Español.
